How the campaign world updates

2 min readUpdated 14 July 2026

Saga20 updates the campaign journal and suggests world information after a recorded session is processed. Written session notes do not trigger the same world update.

Processed recordings can contribute:

  • Campaign journal events
  • New or changed characters
  • Locations
  • Factions
  • Items
  • Links between sessions and world entries

Your campaign settings decide which kinds of entries can be detected. Open Settings, then Campaign to review those choices.

Why written notes behave differently

Write notes instead is a simple way to save your own recap without using an audio session. It does not process those notes into journal or world changes.

Use campaign import when you want to bring established notes and documents into the world builder.

Correcting a world update

Edit the affected entry directly in World. Changing a sentence in the session summary does not guarantee that every related world entry will change with it.

For repeated names or accidental entries, see Fix world entry links and duplicates.
