A DM notes block hides part of a world entry from your players. The rest of the page stays shared, so the public description and your secrets can live on the same page.
Use it on any World Builder entry: characters, NPCs, locations, factions, items, and your own custom types.
Add a DM notes block
- Open World and select the entry you want to edit.
- Click at the end of the description.
- Type /dm and choose DM notes.
- Click inside the block and write the private text.
To hide something you have already written, select the text and choose Hide from players (DM only) in the formatting toolbar.
What it looks like
The block sits inside the description with a dashed warm border and a DM notes label. Everything between the label and the end of the block stays private.
Players never receive this content. It is removed on the server before the page reaches them, so it is not in the page source, and Campaign Chat will not repeat it in an answer.
To check your work, use the eye control at the top of the entry to switch to Preview as player, then back to Back to DM view.

Make a private note public
Click the DM notes label when the secret is out. The text stays where it is and the block around it disappears, so the passage becomes part of the ordinary description.
Use a private page when the whole entry should stay hidden. Use a DM notes block when most of the page is safe for players and one part is not.
